Dive Into Oceanography: How Oceans Move Our World
Dive into the science of the sea! Through interactive lessons, hands-on activities and demos from on-campus labs, you’ll explore how the ocean shapes our planet’s climate, supports life and connects to our daily lives. You’ll get introduced to a range of topics in ocean sciences, including ocean circulation, marine ecosystems and food webs, and marine pollution and solutions.
You’ll think like an oceanographer as you collect and analyze data, experiment with models of density and waves, and explore how real-world scientists study the ocean. Bring your curiosity — and a sense of adventure!
What You’ll Learn
- How to describe physical, chemical and biological components of the ocean system
- Ways to interpret graphs, maps and data collected from marine research
- How oceans influence weather, climate and life on Earth
- Current issues in ocean conservation and sustainability
