Meet the Staff

Lindsay Huse Kestin — Director
Lindsay has over 15 years of experience creating enriching educational experiences for young people in Seattle, and she’s excited to bring that expertise to UW Youth & Teen Programs. She previously worked at the Seattle Art Museum, where she was the manager of teen and family programs, She’s also held positions in the nonprofit world and at museums in the U.K. Lindsay earned a master’s degree in art history from the Courtauld Institute of Art in London and a bachelor’s degree in art history and English from Boston College. In her spare time, she can be found plotting her next travel adventure, spending time outdoors with her dog Charlie and son Henry and cooking meals with her husband.

Grace Merrett — Senior Program Manager
A proud UW alumna with a master’s degree in education, Grace brings a relationship-oriented program management style and innovative curriculum design to UW Youth & Teen Programs. Grace’s passion for youth development drives her efforts to expand access to transformative learning experiences that promote growth, connection and belonging. Before the UW, Grace worked at IslandWood, the YMCA, REI and Seattle Parks & Recreation. Outside of work, Grace enjoys birding, bouldering, playing clarinet, watching reality TV and sharing good food with great people.

Kathryn Higgins — Special Programs Administrator
Kathryn Higgins has been working in education and youth development in Seattle for 20 years. She's worked in youth programs for students from preschool to college age, including at Planned Parenthood, the Seattle Art Museum, Seattle Architecture Foundation and the Robinson Center for Young Scholars. She's delighted to bring her experience and passion for sharing fart jokes with kids to UW Youth & Teen Programs. She's looking forward to answering your registration questions and leading your child in a rousing game of ninja soon.
