Screenwriting Workshop

If you’re serious about feature-length screenwriting, this course is for you. In a roundtable workshop format, you’ll learn how to create believable characters and build a compelling three-act plot. With both the whole class and in smaller groups of three or four writers, you’ll share your own pages and critique the work of others. In minilectures, you’ll learn about creating conflict, structuring rising action, building individual scenes, crafting dialogue that pushes your plot forward, and writing treatments and queries. You’ll also meet with the instructor for individual story conferences.

Who Should Register

This course is for incoming 10th to 12th graders. It's not for students who need remedial writing help. All students should have a high level of English language proficiency and the stamina to write for long stretches.

Instructor

Josephine Cripps
